DELF/DALF is a certification of French-language abilities for non-native speakers of French.
DELF is composed of four independent diplomas corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
- Basic User (A1: Beginner / A2: Basic knowledge)
- Independent User (B1: Intermediate Language Use / B2: Independent User)

The structure of the examination for the DELF Junior corresponds to the DELF tout public. Only the topics and the material will be adapted to the age of the audience. It is reserved for learners of school age in secondary education. The diploma is the same as the general version.
DELF tout public
The DELF tout public is a language test for those who want to certify their knowledge of French. It can be purchased four independent certificates that match the first four proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference.
The DELF Pro is the practical version of the DELF certificate, which is specifically geared to the use of the French language in a professional context. Again, the four levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 can be taken independently. The DELF Pro is aimed at all those who want to work in a French-speaking environment. The test subjects in the DELF Pro are adapted to the world of work, and they assess the communication skills of the candidates in work-based situations.
DALF is composed of two independent diplomas corresponding to the last two levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
Proficient User (C1: Expert Language skills / C2: Nearly native language skills)
Owner of the DALF are exempt upon entry into a French university of the language test.
The voice application at C1 level is autonomous. He can express himself fluently and spontaneously. He has a wide vocabulary and can choose the right expression, to express its observations. He expresses himself clearly and without hesitation, showing a mastery of language structures.
The command of the language is indicated by a precise and fluent diction. The candidate at Level C2 can meet academic or advanced tasks.
Each test includes a written and oral part. Written includes listening comprehension, text comprehension and writing skills. The oral part checks the oral expression. Depending on Level examination papers are structured differently and are of different lengths. The request to the subscriber is higher with increasing level stage, the test subjects vary within each stage. In each part of the examination, the minimum score of 5 points and a total of at least 50 can be achieved by a maximum of 100 points must.
You can register directly at the examination centres in France and also abroad. In addition, you can take exams in one country or in different countries without any time limitation.
We recommend you to prepare yourself for the DELF/DALF-Exam. You have the possibility to participate a language course in France specially made to train you for the DELF/DALF-Exam. But the courses can’t be started earlier than 6 weeks before the exam date.
