With 300.00 habitants we can say that it is an enriched city! Our TANDEM School – Torre di Babele was founded in 1984 by a group of teachers specialized in language teaching. Since its opening, the school has focussed on the teaching of Italian to foreigners and on teacher training for Italian language instructors. The school attracts students from around the world, and since its inception has welcomed over 50,000 participants from all over the world.
Our Italian language school – Torre di Babele is located in an elegant, central Art Nouveau neighbourhood of Rome, near ‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome, historic ‘Villa Torlonia’ park and the main railway station ‘Termini’. This area of Rome has many tree-lined streets and parks (Villa Massimo, Villa Ada, Villa Borghese) and is only a few minutes’ walk from the popular student quarter of San Lorenzo, whose pubs, cafes, restaurants, pizzerias and lively nightlife are well known throughout Italy. Thanks to the excellent availability of public transport course participants can reach the most famous monuments and important places of Rome in minutes.

The prices in Italy are high compare with the rest of Europe. The majority is waiting for the famous Saldi, that twice-annual tradition where every store in Rome cut their prices. The Saldi takes place for 6 weeks, around mid-summer and new year’s. It’s also when you should consider making pricier purchases, like leather boots, handbags, computer items, even a mattress.
We can say that the nightlife in Rome starts late. It is really normal to meet and have dinner with locals around 09.00 pm. You need to be patient when you are going to have dinner because they take time for food and to chat with each other. You have to be aware of the fact that Rome is unique, even when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. It is different from other capitals in the world. And for a specific reason; there are surely loads of bars & pubs, clubs & disco all over the city but the best way to enjoy the culture, vibe and spirit of the city is outdoor since the temperature is agreeable during the year.
Fun thing to know: when Italians are going home after a night of partying they like to grab are “cornetto” (croissant) with a cappuccino. Something different than to eat pizza or fries after a night going out ;).
